Appreciation Can Change Lives
This year we received a holiday card that I couldn’t put down. I was expecting a generic greeting but inside there was a message that I kept reading over and over. It was short. Just a few select chosen words that had so much meaning. So much so, that I even cut out the phrase and was going to post it on my computer as my new year mantra. Instead, I put it on my daughters computer. The next day, she walked up to me and seemingly out of the blue, said, “I appreciate you”. Startled for a moment, I realized she must have read the phrase. “Did you know that’s what we always say to our customers?”, I said. “They are always a bit surprised and tell us they appreciate us, too”. One customer said she would not have been able to get such great gifts for all her grandchildren. Another person said local people can’t usually afford these kinds of beautiful jewelry. I told our daughter, “Our customers believed in us and lifted us up during some very challenging times. If not for them, I don’t know what we would have done.” I think most of them are shocked when we say it because when is the last time you’ve heard you were appreciated or told someone you appreciate them? It's such a small thing that we often think of but forget to say. So tell someone today how much you appreciate them and see their reaction. It's not just that you'll make someone happy but surprisingly, it's how good it will make you feel. Wishing you all the BEST in 2020. "Happy New Year" and a "Big Mahalo" to all of you, our loyal customers over the past 11 years and our new viewers, too. We appreciate YOU!!!
